Homelessness takes different angles and affects people differently. I’m just tryin to be that answered prayer for somebody …
He was homeless as a teenager in the county he now works in. For years he did not tell anyone. The org exists because of that. Nobody had an answer for him.
The passion has been with me all my life. I just didn't know how to spread that passion. The fact that nobody's doing it was an aha moment for me. When I was at my lowest moment, hiding behind a mask, I couldn't find that outlet. I didn't know who to speak to or how to speak to that person. I didn't know there were resources.
Francky Pierre-Paul on WPTVJanuary 30, 2022Read the interview I chose to serve a population that tends to get looked over because the perspective is that they are lazy and refuse to work or they are bums, alcoholics and lack a sense of direction. I started A Different Shade of Love to show their perspective and to share their stories.
Francky Pierre-Paul, Phelps Media GroupApril 20, 2020Read the release It's all about knowing and understanding your purpose. You know, a lot of times people take their past and they try to hide it or hide behind a mask. For me, it was more so using my journey to help educate, empower, and let everybody know, 'You know, sometimes we fall on our ends. And we need that help up or that hand up.'
Francky Pierre-Paul, NewsNationFebruary 1, 2022Read the segment I started to change my way of thinking and made a small pivot on my journey which led me here. I used to be ashamed to tell my story, but it has molded me and shaped me to be who I am today!
A Different Shade Of Love on FacebookFebruary 2, 2022 For 2022 the focus is building and continuing to change the narrative surrounding homelessness in our communities
A Different Shade Of Love on FacebookFebruary 6, 2022
Homelessness is not just physical, it is also mental. In order to understand one's perspective, you have to be willing to open up your heart and lend an ear so you can allow their stories to speak to you. The goal is to reach out and provide a reason to live again.
Francky Pierre-Paul, Phelps Media GroupApril 20, 2020Read the release What I've realized about our homeless neighbors on the street is that they're voiceless and it's because of us in the community. We tell them you're not allowed to do this, or you're not allowed to do that.
Francky Pierre-Paul on CBS12January 17, 2022Read the story We need to be more aware about the surroundings. We have a lot of people that are on the streets that still working nine to five. They just can't pay a rent they can't afford.
Francky Pierre-Paul, NewsNationFebruary 1, 2022Read the segment The heat index is hot, and we have a warning for everybody. But we tend to forget those who are sleeping on the streets, sleeping on the concrete we walk on every single day.
Francky Pierre-Paul on WPTVAugust 9, 2023Read the story Family,

A Different Shade Of Love on Facebook I am inspired by the will to LIVE! … At the end of the day, they fight to just LIVE. They persevere and fight through all the adversity. I am truly inspired and honored to serve the homeless population.

“I understand officer, but let me explain”
The Cops were called on an elderly homeless neighbor and of course I got the call and rush to his aide.
A Different Shade Of Love on FacebookFebruary 26, 2022 Advocacy is standing in the Gap and educating our law enforcement agencies on why our homeless neighbors are out here and HOW we can make their transition off the streets a much easier process.
ARRESTING them is NOT the solution and trespassing them is also not an option.
We have to be at the table in order to help change the narrative.

It was demoralizing. I hated it, and I hated myself.

This world will make you feel like you have to have everything figured out by 20, be successful by 25, own a home by 30, and never make a mistake along the way. But life is not a race. It is a journey.
Stop carrying burdens that were never assigned to you. Some of you are worrying about tomorrow while still trying to survive today.

Tent City, in the first spring of COVID.
He made this in May 2020, in John Prince Park, when the population at Tent City grew to almost 200. It is the neighbors he serves telling their own stories.
The invitation
If you see somebody holding up a sign, instead of pulling out money out your pocket, have a conversation and ask them their name.
Give an hour or a bag of clothes
