Our mission

Ending homelessness starts with changing how we see it.

Nobody on our streets is a category. They are our neighbors. We show up for them with quality clothing, everyday essentials, and the kind of conversation most people walk past.

Striving to end homelessness and providing hope, love and joy to our homeless neighbors on our streets.

Mission

Why we exist.

To transform the way the world views homelessness by providing dignity-centered support — quality clothing, shoes, essentials, and compassionate services. We aim to uplift individuals and families in need, restoring confidence, promoting proper hygiene, and helping them be seen beyond their circumstances.

Vision

What we are working toward.

We envision a world where homelessness is understood differently — with empathy, humanity, and opportunity at the center. We serve individuals and families experiencing hardship by partnering with local and international organizations that share our belief in dignity and wellness. We are committed to building healthier, cleaner, more confident lives so that every person we touch feels accepted, supported, and equipped to step into new opportunities.

Why dignity

We hand out clothes people choose to wear.

Anyone can hand out what nobody wanted. That is easy, and it tells a neighbor exactly what we think of them.

We do it differently. Clothing that fits and that someone would actually choose to wear. Shoes in the right size. A hygiene kit with the ordinary things that let you face a day in public — soap, deodorant, a toothbrush, lotion, sanitary items.

Quality is the point. When a neighbor puts on a clean shirt that fits, they are not wearing somebody else's leftovers.

We believe in expressing concern, compassion, and empathy through our work. We value our partnerships to create better opportunities for the people and families we service. We believe in loving thy neighbor. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to better themselves no matter the circumstances.

More than physical

Homelessness is not just physical, it is also mental.

In order to understand one's perspective, you have to be willing to open up your heart and lend an ear so you can allow their stories to speak to you. The goal is to reach out and provide a reason to live again.

We come back to the same places. That is most of the work, and it is what people give us money to keep doing.

Our name

A different shade of love.

What sets me apart from other souls is the way that I love. Even through someone's flaws, I see potential and room to shower love in areas that have been left void for years.

What the words look like

What quality means at a table.

  • Folded shirts and printed cards laid out on a table, organised for a distribution.

    01

    Clothing that fits

Sorted and sized, so someone picks what they would actually wear rather than taking whatever is left.

  • A table with a Gang Alternative banner and folded shirts set out for a community event.

    02

    No means test

No form, no referral, no questions about how you got here. You come to the table and we hand you things.

  • A van filled with orange drawstring bags printed with a project logo.

    03

    Enough to go round

More than 800 families got a Thanksgiving meal through the Hood Turkey Tour.

  • A pile of orange drawstring bags prepared for a distribution.

    04

    Then back again

Same places, same faces, next month.

A change of quality clothing, head to toe, in the right size for one person.

An example of what this can provide: what a gift buys depends on what our neighbors need most that month.
