01 — Essentials

Quality clothing, shoes, and the ordinary things that let you face a day in public.

This is the floor of everything else. Before a program, before a meal, someone needs clothes they would actually choose to wear, shoes in their own size, and a way to be clean.

We give out clothing, shoes, hygiene and personal care items: soap, deodorant, oral care, lotion, sanitary products. Blankets and pillows go out when the weather turns. It is sorted and sized by volunteers before it reaches a table, because a bag of unsorted clothes is not a gift. It is a chore.

We hand out the shirt we would hand a friend.

New clothes, fresh blankets & pillows, and a little kindness for those in need.

02 — Food

Drive-through distributions, fresh produce, pantry staples.

Food runs as drive-throughs and walk-ups across the county: produce, pantry items, and whatever else we can load into a van that day.

Distributions are free and drive-through, at the Boys & Girls Club in Delray Beach. No registration. First come, first served. Nobody has to prove anything in order to eat.

We go to club parking lots, neighborhood streets and the same parks every week.

03 — Holiday giving

The Hood Turkey Tour in November, and the Christmas toy giveaway in December.

In November 2025 the Turkey Tour ran across Palm Beach and Broward counties. More than 800 families got a Thanksgiving meal, with stops in Boynton Beach and in Sunrise.

At Christmas, the work is toys: bought, bagged and given out first come first served at a community afternoon.

It's a Blessing to be a BLESSING.

04 — Youth

Youth work.

He was 16 when he lost his home. The youth work exists because of that.

The step team

The squad competes, and places. At the 2nd Annual Stomp and Shake Showcase in July 2026 the team came home second. It was the first competition for most of the girls on the floor, and they “represented Delray with class, energy, and heart”.

Schools and the Club

We sit down with principals, and we show up in the gym. In September 2026 that was a meeting with the principal of Plumosa School of the Arts about how to keep supporting the same families, students and members. Plumosa is one of the Club's feeder schools and one of its largest pickups.

In August it was Speak Life, an anti-bullying assembly before the school year starts, with one rule stated out loud: no bullying, ever.

The marine science summer

Twenty members spent a week in the Ocean Guardians Marine Science Summer Program: marine life, sea turtle conservation, coastal ecosystems, and why protecting the beach is not somebody else's job.

Youth sport

A summer sports program, announced in April 2026 and run through the Club, with the World Cup summer as the hook. It is the simplest thing we run: a team, a kit, and somewhere to be on a Saturday.

Music

He fell in love with music during one of the lowest moments of his life. The music project is for the next generation, and not only for singers. Production, engineering, songwriting, management, marketing, branding, photography, videography, business: there is more than one way in.

The very first time I fell in love with music was during one of the lowest moments of my life. Music spoke to me when I couldn't find the words.

Some of this work runs under A Different Shade Of Love and some of it runs through the clubs and schools we work with, the Boys & Girls Club in Delray Beach among them. Ask us and we will tell you exactly who runs what.

05 — Community events

Galas, ceremonies, and a room with a stage.

The work is not only distributions. There are formal evenings where the organization is in the room, and sometimes at the podium: ceremonies with flags and a graduate, and nights with a stage and a crowd that stayed.

“Changing the Perspective of Homelessness” has been our headline since 2020. A banquet table is part of how that argument gets made.

06 — Outreach

Outreach work.

We go to the same parks on the same days, so people know when to find us.

Then we learn names. We learn what happened: who is working and still cannot cover rent, who needs a document replaced, a ride, a phone call, or somebody to sit with them while they make it.

We have walked into a shelter with haircuts, food, music and a prayer and stayed for the afternoon. That is not a distribution. That is a visit.

In his words

Why our neighbors are voiceless.

What I've realized about our homeless neighbors on the street is that they're voiceless and it's because of us in the community. We tell them you're not allowed to do this, or you're not allowed to do that.

— Francky Pierre-Paul, CBS12, January 2022

Homelessness is not just physical, it is also mental. In order to understand one's perspective, you have to be willing to open up your heart and lend an ear so you can allow their stories to speak to you. The goal is to reach out and provide a reason to live again.

— Francky Pierre-Paul, Phelps Media Group, 20 April 2020

Today we tapped in to one of our shelters here in PBC and we left Different Shades of Love throughout the place today. We laughed, we sang, we danced, we prayed and we ate.
